Mom and Dad's visit - July, 2011

On the 4th of July we had a big Swallow family picnic. It was great seeing everyone!

My cousin Brooke's daughter Kathryn and Lydia. They are so cute together!

I love these pictures of Mom and Dad!

I just love Aunt Sharon!

Our second cousin Kara had organized some games for the children. The kids had to fill these cups with popcorn and walk with them tied to their feet and empty them into a bucket. Which ever team had their bucket filled first won. They loved it!

The next day Stacey and Doug came for a visit and brought the cutest dog on the planet! She was perfect size for Hazel and she had a ball playing with her!

The week after Mom and Dad's visit I took the kids to a new park in Spanish Fork with a splash pad. They had so much fun!

Hazel would stuff her mouth with cheese crackers and run into the water. You can see her mouth is pretty full!

Last but certainly not least was Joy's 14th birthday! She asked for lemon bars for her "cake" and lots of books. Since all she asked for was books, we got her a bookshelf to put them on too.

I gave Joy a very mushy 'daughter' card and it made her cry! So, we had to get a picture of her tears!

Man...this post really made me miss you guys and everyone in Utah. Once again...I wish we coulda been there. I love those pics of Mom and Dad too...I love Aunt Sharon too....did she color her hair? It was so fun to see everyone in these photos.

Awwww! You guys had all this fun without me?!?! I want to be there for everything!!!! I love all these pictures. I love Stacey's dog - looks like a little toy that's come to life!! Thanks again for sharing these with us. Love you!!

Hazel - Power: Getting What She Wants!

Hazel is 3 years old! She's my baby and always will be! She's definitely a Momma's girl, but she goes to nursery at church like a big girl and loves it! She's the most petite of my kids physically, but probably one of the strongest personalities! Even Thor listens to her! She tells him to sit, stay, and drop it! She is very stubborn and is used to getting her way. She sure knows how to throw a fit when she doesn't!! Hazel loves putting on eyeshadow and lipgloss, lots of it! She's really into looking 'so pretty' and wearing dresses all the time. Everyone that's around her age, Hazel calls them her 'Best Friend'. She has about 20 best friends! She loves her duckies, babies, horses, Barbies, My Little Pet Shops, and Scooby Doo. Hazel loves anything with sugar in it, BBQ chicken, Fetticinni and fruit. She has the sweetest smile and is always super cuddly for her Mommy. I just can't get enough of my Hazel!

Lydia - Power: Sparkles

Lydia LOVES anything with sparkles! She shoots them from her eyes, and when she dances there are always sparkles present! Lydia is a joy to be with! She is almost 7 years old and is in the 1st grade. She is in a Chinese immersion program and she is just loving it so far! She loves going to school and eating lunch there and having THREE recesses! She feels so grown up now and tries to act very grown up too! Lydia always has to be doing something exciting! If there is five minutes of down time she thinks its the most boring day ever! She's always coming up with ways to have a club or a party or a pretend sleep over. She would play with one of her friends every minute of every day if she could! She has her own pet Betta fish named Rainbow. Lydia's favorite things are Legend of Kora, Scooby Doo, Barbie movies, The Lorax, The Gummy Bears, wearing skirts, playing at the park, and making presents for people. She said, "A girl like me really should make presents." She loves eating cucumbers, mango, pretty much any kind of fruit, and can never get enough sauce. Any kind of sauce and she loves it! Our sweet Lydia has a very special place in our hearts!

Adam - Power: TriForce

Adam's Petrucka Power is TriForce which makes him the master of swords! Adam is 11 years old and is in 6th grade. Adam is in love with video games, Wii games, computer games, and now especially Ipod touch games since he got one for his birthday! He loves our famiy dog, Thor and is always willing to take him on a walk. Thor loves playing tug of war with Adam. He just started some light weight lifting with his Dad and can't wait to have big muscles like his Dad. Adam loves building K-nex sets and it's amazing all the cool creations he comes up with. He loves the Fablehaven book series and Joy is reading him the Percy Jackson books now which he loves too. His favorite foods are Swedish pancakes, Hawaiian Pork, pepperoni pizza, and ice cream sundaes. He loves going fly fishing with his Poppop and is getting quite good at it. He can cast it out and catch a fish all by himself now. He's in 11 year old scouts now and really enjoys that. He's earned his square knot, and his Arrow of Light. He's great at entertaining Hazel and can take quite a beating from her. He has an awesome sense of humor and is always cracking me up!

Mary - Power: Being Awesome!

In Mary's words, her power is being awesome! And she is, totally awesome! Mary is 13 1/2 years old and is in 8th grade. She is an awesome babysitter and is always there for me when I need her. She has a knack for being creative, I'm always amazed at the things she comes up with. She also writes such amazing poems. Mary is so fun and the life of the party and has been able to make friends easily. She loves Junior High and gets straight A's! She loves drama and chorus and made it into the advanced choir that you have to try for. Her best subject is math and Mary is in the advanced math class. She has her own pet cat Moony and is great at caring for him. She loves reading books, owns all the seasons of Monk, and has quite a coin collection. Mary is the Beehive president in Young Womens and is awesome at coming up with fun activities for the girls. She has been working hard all summer and lost 20 pounds and is still losing! She looks great!! Her favorite foods are imitation crab, sour dough bread, fruits, and pizza. The only thing you've got to watch out for with Mary is how crazy and hyper she gets, it's a little scary! Life would be so boring (and quiet) without Mary!

Joy - Power: Perfection

Joy is in 10th grade and is 15 years old. Joy has the power of perfection. Our house, her room, her school work, and herself all has to be perfect all the time! It's exhausting and wonderful all at the same time. With Joy around, my house is always straightened and her work is always done. Of course there are major conflicts with her siblings because they don't feel the same way, but hopefully her good example will rub off on them some day! Joy has her own pet cat Autumn and takes imaculate care of her, including brushing her and Moony every day. Joy's teachers all LOVE her because she is a straight A student and great at participating. She loves seminary and is going to early morning seminary this year and she is taking two college credit classes this year. She hopes to graduate with her Associates degree as well! Joys goal in life is to become a doctor, possibly a Radiologist so she can help kids like Lydia. Joy also just got her learners permit, and yes, we are freaking out! She loves watching Lord of the Rings, Avatar the Last Airbender, Legend of Korra, and Merlin. Joys favorite books are Percy Jackson, Last Apprentice, and Fablehaven. Her favorite foods are pizza, Teryaki chicken, chocolate, lasagna, apricot chicken, chocolate popcorn, and ice cream. Joy is the Miamaid president in our ward and is a great example to the other Young Women. She earned her Young Womens Medallion and her Honors Bee. We are so proud of Joy and all her accomplishments. She is truly a Joy to have as a daughter!
