We were invited to participate in this 5K some family friends put on every year in honor of their son who died in a car accident 4 years ago. They wanted Lydia to be a special guest there because he loved helping handicapped kids and those in need. They had the local football team there to help us push Lydia in her wheelchair and I'm so glad they did because that got tiring really fast! The last 500 meters Lydia got up and walked the rest of the way with her new Prosthesis. There were so many people cheering her on and everyone was tearing up! It was pretty intimidating for her in front of all those people, but I know this was a day she will never forget!
Pretty awesome of my cousin Steven to be there!
The lady next to Lydia raised this money through her softball team for Lydia. She was an organ recipient from Brandon when he died. She received his liver and pancreas and no longer has diabetes because of it. She was so emotional giving this to Lydia and made everyone cry their eyes out when she talked about Lydia walking to the finish line! The two on each end are Brandon's parents who organized this whole thing.
Lydia with Miss Springville/Mapleton
Steven won 2nd place, I think in his age group, Hazel, 3rd in her age group and Lydia won first just because she's awesome!!

Our Visit at Heidi & Joseph's
Kaitlyn, Hazel, and Ben maddogging Joy!
We finally had a chance to visit with Justin, Chelsea, and their wonderful family! It had been 9 years since I'd seen them
The Children's Museum!
Lydia with the thumbs down again and Becca hiding her face! These two don't like getting their picture taken! Ben sure does though!
I had to surprise attack Becca to get this little gem!
Adam climbing a Palm tree in Heidi's yard. Yikes! He climbed all the way to the top the day before without my knowledge and fell half way down. It's a miracle we didn't have an emergency room visit!
At the Science Center!
Wheel chair racing! Lydia's specialty!
The nose produced a sneeze with the force of a real sneeze. You never new when to expect it!
Joy won on the flexible scale!
Kaitlyn, Lydia, and Alex
Building a pyramid in the Ancient Egypt section
Can Hazel pull her own weight??
The bed of nails!!!!

Amputee Conference
I found these on my phone today from our hotel stay on the way to Tuscon. I had no idea Hazel was filming while we were trying to get on the road that morning, but I'm so glad she did. I love hearing her narrate, it's just so cute!!
First thing Lydia wants to do when we get there!! She's giving me a thumbs down because she doesn't like getting her picture taken! The little girl sitting there was so cute and stole everyone's heart!
This is a friend Lydia made named Golda. Her family is from Uganda and her brother is in the pic above.
We went to the Planeterium one day. This was Adam's favorite mineral there because it looks like butterscotch candy!
This was Lydia's favorite. It had brilliant blue sparkles in it.
Game night!
Tae Kwon Do Demo. Lydia balanced on her crutches swung her leg over the noodle! Lydia and Hazel with their boards!
The Top Dog Demo. We were so excited to see a Rotti there as a service dog! It actually made Adam emotional and he had to step out because he was missing Thor so much! This man was in an accident about 4 years ago and was able to learn to train the dog he already had. He had just asked him to pick up his I-pad for him and now he was giving him praises. So cool!
Lydia got to try out the new Google Glass. The woman in the background without arms uses it as her computer. This is the woman that can do the Nun chucks with her feet and she's also an airplane pilot so it's not like it's necessary for her but nice to have. The people there without arms are very independent and can do everything on their own. I watched girls texting with their toes and taking pictures. They could do their own hair, learn to drive, cook, feed themselves, all with their feet. Amazing!
